The Thinker

A conversation took place today which provoked this:

Oh the thinker, where hast thou gone?
Leaving a seat none dare to reside in because of the responsibility the burden of mind will bring.
Oh the thinker, where hast thou gone?
A cup left empty in a room at capacity with those who wish to quench their thirst with your knowledge.
Oh the thinker, where hast thou gone?
Placing a void in the heart of the intellect of man
Oh the thinker, where hast thou gone?
A blanket of ignorance coddles the meek in your absence
Oh the thinker, where hast thou gone?
The reverie you had created has been defiled into this debauchery of their humanity propagated by the indoctrination of lethargy into each generation for the sole purpose of control over the flow of information
Oh the thinker, where hast thou gone?
Left to their own devices, which they know not how to utilize,  they are helpless
Oh thinker! Why have you left them to the barren wasteland that is their humanity!?!

  1. I believe you showed me this one at work. Outstanding poem and choice of words! In life we don't always think the same and use the same logic when making decisions. Sometimes we have regrets or wish we would have thought or acted differently. Imperfect ways of thinking makes us who we are... By the way, I think I know where the thinker hast gone... To take a leak! JK!

  2. So I read it the second time and have a different perspective... Is it supposed to be about one who isn't thinking as deeply or expressing those thoughts as usual? .... Instead they are distracted by other worldly things? ... Or maybe the person is embarrassed or unwilling to express their thoughts because they ate afraid if rejection or not blending in? ... Fill me in...
